Agree what relevance means for this task.
Before research begins, align on the product, target buyer roles and market scope. Agree which questions matter most and what would make a company worth further attention. A clear brief helps colleagues explain their choices consistently, especially when one person researches and another handles the conversation.
Review the reason behind each candidate.
Consider the trade signals alongside public company information. Identify the evidence supporting a possible fit and the information that is still missing. A shortlist expresses a team’s priorities; it is not a company certification or a forecast of a sale. Leave room for a reviewer to ask for more context or set a company aside.
Make the handoff useful on its own.
A sales colleague should be able to understand a prospect without reconstructing the research. After review and contact-channel checks, summarize why the company may fit, what still needs confirmation and who will follow up.
- Company identity and the reason for possible relevance.
- Supporting sources, dates and unresolved questions.
- Reviewed business contact channel and proposed next step.
Use the sample to discuss the workflow together.
Open a fictional company profile, read its evidence and try a temporary review choice. Use the example to discuss what your team would want to know before a handoff. Sample choices reset on reload and are not shared team records. Actual workspace access and the scope of your use are arranged separately.
